Kid's Care at the Y

Kid’s Care at the YMCA give kids a welcoming place to make friends and learn new skills in an environment that emphasizes our core values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring. Members are allowed to utilize Kids Care services for an unlimited amount of time during our regularly scheduled hours. Do not bring children who are sick or display symptoms of illness in respect for the health of everyone.

Kid’s Care Information

Kid’s Care is for children ages 6 weeks to 8 years old. A parent must be in the building at all times while a child is in Kid's Care. Parents are responsible for diapering their children and will be paged to come to Kid's Care if necessary.

Reservations for children under 12 months are required and can be made by calling (507) 287-2260 x 342. Please review our reservation policy if you have a child under 12 months that will utilize Kid's Care.

Monday-Friday 9:00am - 1:00pm
Monday-Friday 4:30pm - 7:30pm
Saturday         8:30am - 12:00pm

With no participants, Kid’s Care may close early. If you come to the YMCA while Kids Care is not open, you can play with your children in our Kids Gym, based upon availability and good behavior.

Cost of Kid's Care

Family or Solo Parent Memberships have the option to add on unlimited Kid's Care to their membership for a cost of $20.00 per month. This will be automatically drafted with your monthly draft, or this will be paid at the time you renew your annual membership. Kid's Care can be added or dropped from your membership at any time, however a cancellation of Kid's Care must be made 15 days prior to your draft date.

Non-Family Members: First child $3.00 for up to 2 hours; additional children $2.00 each for up to 2 hours. All payments must be made at the Welcome Center before children enter Kid’s Care.

Kid’s Care Reservation Policy For Children Under 12 Months

Children under 12 months are required to have a reservation prior to attending Kids Care. To make a reservation, stop in or call during Kids Care hours of operation to confirm a reservation with a staff member.  When Kids Care is closed, give us a call at least 24 hours in advance at (507) 287-2260 x 342 and leave a message including requested child’s name, date, time and a call back phone number on our answering service.  If you have called within 24 hours on a business day prior to your reservation and do not receive a call back, you are guaranteed a reservation.  Please make sure to cancel any reservation that you are not planning to uphold, we will charge your account $3.00 for not canceling your reservation. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your reservation, you will lose your reservation. The YMCA's reservation system allows us to uphold staff ratios and sustain a safe & comfortable environment for all.
