YMCA Swim Lessons YMCA swimming lessons provide children with essential skills to be safe in and around water. In addition to building character and self-confidence, children learn about leadership, safety and rescue skills, and water activities. These important survival skills allow parents and children to enjoy a lifetime of both fun and healthy activity at pools, beaches and water parks. Swimming is also an ideal exercise for Baby Boomers and other older adults who want to maintain their fitness, but may need to give up high-impact or repetitive-motion activities such as running, cycling and aerobics. For more information about YMCA swim lessons or aquatic programs, check out our current program brochure for current offerings!

Y Youth Sports Sign up for basketball at the Y starting at age 3 1/2 to 5th grade. Our fun sports leagues allow children to learn basic skills, sportsmanship, teamwork and Y values while having fun and not interfering with your family vacation schedule! The Y’s Youth Sports Philosophy is that everyone plays and everyone wins! Each player will receive a team t-shirt. Parent volunteer coaches are needed for each team. If you are interested in coaching, please indicate on your child’s registration form. All games are held at the Y on Saturdays. For more information and to register online, click here.

The Strong Kids Campaign helps us reach out to children and families who would otherwise be unable to participate in our values-filled programs. Y activities help children develop valuable skills, gain confidence, and build self-esteem. By contributing to the Strong Kids Campaign, you can help us teach these young people such important values as caring, honesty, respect & responsibility. It's a great way to improve Rochester's standard of living, learning, and thriving. To give your time, treasure, or talent, please contact Brenda at 287-2260 ext. 305 or email: BrendaK@rochfamy.org. Time Trader Have you heard of our local Time Trader program through Family Services of Rochester? Visit: http://www.familyservicerochester.org/timetrader.html for more information and get signed up to offer your time and earn time to utilize the talents and services of others. It's a FREE program. Time Trader is a TimeBank – an exchange network through which members earn Time Dollars (TD$) for time spent helping other members. One hour of service equals one TD$. With TD$, members can “buy” services they want or need. Everyone’s time and service are valued equally. Time Trader keeps track of service offers, requests, exchanges and TD$ accounts through an online database called Community Weaver. Be sure to mention that you heard about this from the Y so we can earn some time for your spreading the word!

Guest Pass Policy
The Y is open to Rochester residents & their families at certain times of the day. The Y is a membership based organization, so guest passes are based upon availability and not available during peak hours. To learn more about the Y's guest pass times and policies, click here. Please be prepared to show a photo I.D. when you come in as a guest to the Y. Failure to bring a photo I.D. can result in refusal to enter our facility.
